I have worked in the jewelry business for over forty-three years as a master jeweler designing and making find hand fabricated jewelry in 18K gold and platinum. My early interest in armor and weapons led me to knife making. I have researched Japanese metal working techniques and the use of textures, patinas and other surface treatments. I have used this research in my knives and jewelry. I have been a member of The Knifemakers Guild for more than twenty years. My knives have gone to Italy, France, China, Japan and all over the United States. Photographs of my work have been published in Chicago magazine. Photographs of my knives were printed in Knives Digest, Knife Magazine and some Japanese knife magazines. At the 1996 Knifemakers Guild Show, I received the A.G. Russell Award for Most Innovative Folding Knife. I have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge with other people. I have taught workshops on jewelry, metal work and knife making, both at the college level and the the general public. I have a BFA and MFA from Northern Illinois University and an MAA.
